Menopause is a naturally occurring process that every woman experiences around the age of 51. Because it affects a woman’s hormone levels, menopause can also cause mood swings, body changes, hair loss, and much more. Every woman experiences different changes. Clearing up menopause myths can provide comfort for women beginning these years.
Menopause causes weight gain for everyone.
Not all women experience weight gain during menopause. Women find it harder to control their weight as they age. And so they link the two things. A decline in metabolism mixed with changing hormone levels can definitely cause women to experience changes in controlling their weight, but menopause does not necessarily equate to automatic weight gain.
Only estrogen levels decrease during menopause.
During menopause, women actually experience changes in three different hormones: estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone. Estrogen levels decrease over time and women naturally adapt to the physical and emotional impact it causes. The hormone progesterone decreases during menopause and causes effects such as hot flashes, night sweats, and changes in mood. Many misunderstand testosterone in the process of menopause. Testosterone helps to replace the body’s somatic tissue. When testosterone levels decrease the somatic cells deflate to fat instead of being decreased.
Menopause happens quickly.
The general process of menopause is gradual. Women don’t stop having their monthly menstrual cycle overnight, but instead the process can take between 3 to 5 years. During this time, the ovary is fluctuating and causing fluctuations in hormone levels. This, in turn, can cause periods to be heavier some months and lighter other months. Eventually, a woman will stop having her period altogether, but the process there is gradual.
You can’t counter the effects of menopause.
Many women are unaware of the natural and medical ways they can support themselves during the process of menopause. Regular exercise is one way to help women control minor hot flashes and other symptoms. Hormone supplements are another great way to help women who are experiencing more severe forms of menopause changes. A hormone supplement can help women experiencing hormonal changes. And, it may also restore those lost healthy feminine properties.
Replace Menopause Myths with Facts and Relief
At Femeregen, the medical team has developed bioidentical hormones in a balanced formula. Postmenopausal women use them as a supplement. We compound the two products in our laboratory. They are called EOS and Aurora. They both contain bioidentical estradiol, progesterone, testosterone, and DHEA. The formula is designed for topical use; specifically intravaginal administration on a nightly basis. These are systemic therapies. They are formulated to specifically address all the issues discussed above and many others. The products are not for sale, but are provided to patients who subscribe to our Femegen Health and Wellness Program. For more information contact Kim Teasley at 404.547.2373 or at KimT@ARCenter.net.
